Serious question: why did that guy at the dream salon insist my hair needed to be braided with actual shoelaces?

I was sitting in this weird chair made of tinfoil and he kept saying laces hold more memories than elastics, and now I'm wondering if that's a real rule or just something his brain made up because my dream ended with my head tied to a radiator.

Whoa hold on, I gotta respectfully disagree with you guys. I see this totally different. Dreams are just your brain doing a weird factory reset while you sleep, they don't have secret meanings hidden in shoelaces. I mean, think about it, your brain is just recycling random stuff from your day, weird fears, and that one time you saw a shoelace commercial. If laces held memories then we'd all be walking around with our whole life story tied to our sneakers, right? It sounds cool and poetic but it's really just your brain making a weird connection because the dream salon guy had a funky hat on. No disrespect to anyone who finds meaning in dreams but sometimes a shoelace is just a shoelace.

Used to roll my eyes at dream meanings but shoelaces as memory holders actually makes weird sense to me now.
