Spent $80 on a weighted blanket and now I'm a believer

I thought weighted blankets where just a gimmick for rich people who like feeling squished. Picked one up at Target after three nights of lying awake stressing about work. You ever buy something you were sure was dumb and end up loving it?

$80 sounds like a steal compared to the one my neighbor bought for $250 at some fancy boutique. I was floored when she told me that. And @piper_kim, I totally get the roommate situation. My friend's daughter has one she's obsessed with and she actually brought it to my house for a sleepover. I tried it for five minutes and felt like I was being smothered by a friendly walrus. Maybe I'm just weird, but I couldn't handle the pressure.

Start by agreeing with @angela_harris that a friendly walrus is the perfect description. I tried one of those gravity blankets at a friend's house and honestly felt like I was being hugged by a very determined bear who forgot to let go. After about ten minutes I was sweating and felt like I had to fight my way out just to breathe. Maybe I just need more practice but give me a regular old quilt any day.

My roommate snagged one for anxiety and now she won't share it with me.
