That $200 deep freezer I bought off Craigslist 8 years ago is still running like a champ

It saved me during that 2020 panic when everyone was fighting for toilet paper and I had a whole side of beef in there from a local farm that cost me $4 a pound.

Got one off Craigslist like ten years ago myself, still frosts up like new. Paid $75 for it and it's survived two moves and a power outage where I had to live off frozen burritos for a week. Kinda glad I splurged on the extra freezer space before everyone started hoarding everything.

Yeah those Craigslist deals are hard to beat. I snagged a chest freezer for $50 from a guy moving out of state and it's been running smooth for 8 years now. People are crazy paying full retail when there's perfectly good used ones out there.

Those numbers sound great but $4 a pound for a side of beef is still pretty steep in my book. You can catch sales on freezer packs for $2-3 a pound if you watch the grocery ads close enough. Plus that $200 freezer is about what you would pay for a new one these days, so not exactly a steal.
