That weird rule in my dream about paying with loose change
Last night I dreamed I was at a gas station in Austin and the cashier told me I couldn't use any coins that had been in my pocket for over 6 hours, like they expired or something. I actually woke up and checked my pocket change this morning before I realized how dumb that was. Has anyone else had a dream where money had some crazy hidden rule attached to it?

Actually 22 cents in my dream once couldn't be spent because they were "too old" from sitting in my cup holder too long. I used to think dream money rules were just random nonsense your brain makes up, but reading how your brain connected pocket time to coin value kinda made me reconsider. Idk maybe our subconscious is genuinely trying to teach us something about how we treat money in real life, just in the most backwards way possible. I mean six hours is such a specific number too, like your brain was pulling from some real memory of a time limit on something. It's weird how sticky those dream rules are too, I still catch myself checking my change sometimes even though I know it's dumb.

Bro that's hilarious but also weirdly relatable lmao. My brain once came up with a rule that pennies would turn into spiders if you stacked more than five of them together. Woke up actually scared to touch my change jar for a solid minute. Something about dream-money rules just hits different, like your subconscious is trying to protect you from financial ruin in the most ridiculous way possible. Maybe our brains are just trying to make budgeting more exciting than it actually is. Either way I'm glad real life doesn't care how long my quarters have been marinating in my pocket.
