Blew my shot at the art show when my canvas fell off the easel mid-sale
I was at the craft fair in Greenville last Saturday, about to hand a painting to a buyer, and the whole thing slid off and landed face down in a puddle of spilled lemonade. Took me 20 minutes of panic blotting with napkins before I could even look at the damage... anyone else have a display disaster ruin a big moment?

Man I triple checked the frame on a big one last year and still somehow watched it fall off the hook and crack the glass right before the buyer walked over. Nothing says professional like standing there with a broom and a broken frame.

Did you even get to salvage the painting after all that blotting? I used to be the kind of person who thought little accidents like that just added a fun story to the piece... you know, like built-in history. Then my own big moment happened last fall at a local gallery opening. A kid ran into my display table and knocked over a whole box of my smaller prints into a cup of coffee. I was so mad I almost cried, but I tried to save a few anyway. Honestly, it totally changed my mind about those "character" moments... sometimes they just ruin the whole thing and you can't get it back, no matter how much you blot.
