Dropped $200 on a premium planner system that I used for exactly 4 days

I fell for one of those fancy planner ads on Instagram last January. The system was supposed to help me map out my whole year and achieve all my big dreams. I spent $200 on the binder, the inserts, the stickers, the whole package. I sat down on day one and filled out the vision board page really carefully. By day four I had completely abandoned it and went back to sticky notes on my fridge. The worst part is I bought a second set of refills in March thinking I would restart. I still find the binder in my closet every few months and feel a little stab of regret. Has anyone else thrown money at a productivity system that just gathered dust?

Oh man, that "vision board page" part hit me hard because my friend Sarah did the exact same thing. She spent like $150 on this whole bullet journal setup with all the fancy markers and washi tape and everything. She spent like three hours on the first page making it look perfect and then never opened it again. She told me she keeps finding the markers in her desk drawer and feels guilty every time she sees them. I mean, at least you got a cool binder out of it, that's what I told her too.

Wait but honestly isn't the real value here that you got this whole fresh start ritual out of it? Like yeah the binder's collecting dust now but for those four days you probably felt really organized and motivated. I'd argue that feeling of possibility is worth something even if it didn't stick.

Ngl I feel like people make this way deeper than it needs to be lol. It's just a notebook, not a life commitment. Either use it or toss it, don't let it haunt you from your closet.
