Found out most people quit their dream within 6 months of starting

I was reading a study from a psychology journal last night and it said something like 92% of people who pursue a passion project give up before the half year mark. That stat surprised me because I always thought it was more about hitting a year. Has anyone else seen numbers like this and did it change how you approached your own dream?

That 6 month mark is brutal. My sister's bakery failed right at that point too.

Oh man, that stat rings a bell. I had a buddy who was dead set on starting a food truck. He bought the whole setup, spent like 8 grand on equipment, painted the thing bright orange. By month four he was already complaining about the early mornings and how nobody showed up to his spot downtown. He sold the truck at a loss around month seven. Said it wasn't the work itself, it was the grind of doing the same thing every day with no payoff yet.

You know, the funny thing is people always blame the location or the menu, but I've seen food trucks fail because the owner got tired of being the only employee who knows how to make the signature sauce, every single batch. One guy running the show can only hold it together so long, all that knowledge in one head is a single point of failure.
