I used to paint watercolors every Sunday morning and now I don't even own brushes

Back around 2016 I'd wake up at 6am, set up my little station by the window, and paint for hours. Then I moved into a second floor apartment on Elm Street with terrible light and just stopped. Has anyone else had a creative hobby completely die because your living situation changed and you never adjusted?

Get that light thing sorted. A cheap full spectrum lamp from Amazon works wonders for painting, doesn't matter how dark the room is.

My buddy Dave tried that exact route last winter, got the $30 Amazon special with the bendy arm. He clipped it to his easel and within a week the thing kept slumping down every time he leaned in to blend oils, drove him nuts. Ended up taping the arm to a floor lamp stand with duct tape, which looked janky but worked somehow. The light quality was fine, just the build quality was total garbage, you know? I figure for a few bucks more you could hit up a hardware store clamp light and slap a daylight bulb in it, sturdier and probably lasts longer than prime day hype.

Wait, aren't cheap clamp lights kinda harsh for painting though...
