That week I tried to grow tomatoes from seed and gave up after 4 days

I had this dream of growing my own tomatoes for years, thought it would be simple. Last spring I bought a seed starter kit with 36 little pods and set everything up on my kitchen counter. By day two I was checking them every few hours, misting the soil, moving them closer to the window. Day three the first sprouts showed up and I felt great. Then day four hit and I realized I had to keep this up for weeks, watering just right, rotating trays, watching for mold. I work 10 hour days landscaping and the last thing I wanted to do was babysit tiny plants after dealing with big ones all day. I packed the whole kit into a box and gave it to my neighbor who actually enjoys that slow pace. Has anyone else bought into a hobby hard and then quit within a week?

Yeah I read something about how gardening blogs make it look easy but they skip over the daily grind part, like how you have to harden off seedlings and deal with damping off disease. @linda_dixon49 I feel you on the sourdough thing, I tried that too and it was like having a needy pet that smells weird.

Oh man, I did the exact same thing with sourdough starter last year. Killed it in less than a week because I forgot to feed it.

Bought a whole indoor hydroponic setup and quit after three days, just sat there collecting dust.
