Wandered into an abandoned studio in Nashville and saw a pedalboard covered in dust

I spent my twenties dreaming of being a session guitarist there, but watching that gear sit unused made me realize I had more pride in the dream than the work, so has anyone else walked away from a music scene after one too many reality checks?

That studio dust is just unpaid rent on a dream. I left the Nashville scene after watching twenty-something guys play the same licks for ten years. Pride in the work dies when you realize the work isn't working.

Read that article about how most Nashville musicians end up in debt. It matches up.

Yeah @avery_flores17 you hit it, but it wasn't just unpaid rent - some of those guys actually owned the gear and still couldn't make it work. The dust just proves ambition doesn't pay the bills.
