Years ago, I aimed to master watercolor skies...

Blending wet-on-wet finally clicked after a rainy afternoon experiment... but I shelved the palette for good.

Grandma's oil paints went for five bucks at my garage sale.

That five dollar price tag @wadew51 is just for the dried up tubes. The real cost is all the pictures she never started because life got in the way. Makes you wonder if our kids will even have garage sales for stuff like that, or if all our half-finished creative work just lives as forgotten files on a dead hard drive someday.

Remember watercolors are meant to be rewet. That dried up palette in the drawer isn't a lost cause. You can bring those pans back to life with a spray bottle and some patience. It's not like oils where the tube truly is gone. Those paints are just sleeping.

Yeah that hits hard. Seeing a whole palette dry up in a drawer. Or someone's lifetime of paints going for loose change. It’s like admitting you gave up on a part of yourself. That rainy day win with the watercolor sky just gets buried. Makes you wonder what else we box up and forget about.
