Figured out a way to stop my cutterhead from clogging in heavy clay

Spent 6 months fighting wet clay that kept packing my cutterhead solid every 30 minutes. Tried running at half throttle and it actually cleared the junk out way better than full speed, plus I burned less fuel. Anyone else have a weird setting that works better than the manual says?

Oh MAN that is a GREAT tip! I bet running slower lets the clay actually fall off instead of getting smeared in by the blades spinning at full speed. I've always heard that slower speeds save fuel but never thought about it helping with clogging like that.

Used to think going faster just meant getting done quicker, plain and simple. Stubborn about it too, figured slower was for people who didn't know what they were doing. But I actually tried easing off the throttle one day when the clay was really sticking, and it made a huge difference. Spent way less time cleaning the blades between loads and the final piece came out smoother. It's one of those things where you gotta see it work before you'll believe it. Definitely changed my mind on that one.
