Tried a new spoil line setup on the old dredge last week...

We were working a tight spot on the river near Bend and I swapped the standard 6-inch line for an 8-inch one, thinking it would just move more material faster. The pump couldn't keep up and we ended up with a nasty clog that took half a day to clear. Learned the hard way that bigger isn't always better if your whole system isn't matched for it. Anyone else run into this when they tried to upgrade just one part?

Tbh I had the same pump issue last season. Upgraded the line without checking specs like @rowan_thomas84 mentioned, and it was a mess. Now I always listen for that pump whine before it gets bad.

Check the pump specs to see what it can actually handle. Did you notice any warning signs before the clog, like a change in the engine sound or slower water flow?

Heard pumps can whine before they fail, @mia700.
