Had a day last month where everything went sideways on a ceiling patch job
I spent 5 hours trying to match the texture on a living room ceiling after a pipe leak, but the homeowner's dog kept knocking over my mud pan and I finally just told them to pick a different finish and walked off the job, has anyone else had a job go so bad you just had to walk?

Oh come on, a dog knocking over your mud pan repeatedly? That's rough. I gotta ask though - was the dog actually getting into the work area or was it just wandering through while you had stuff set up? I've had pets screw with my tools before but usually you can close a door or set up a barrier. What was the homeowner doing while all this was happening? Were they just watching their dog make a mess of your job or did they try to help?

Ugh that reminds me of this one time I was cat sitting for my neighbor and their cat decided my freshly painted toenails were a TOY. I had to lock myself in the bathroom to finish drying. Some pets just have a SIXTH SENSE for causing chaos I swear.

Read in a contractor forum where a guy said his golden retriever actually ate a $200 tube of acoustic sealant. Dog had to go to the emergency vet. Owner didn't even offer to pay for the sealant. So your situation could've been way worse, at least nobody needed surgery. But still, five hours of that is just brutal. I don't blame you for walking, some days the universe just tells you it's not happening.
