Hot take: Watching a crew in Phoenix try to mud a ceiling with a 6-inch knife made me swear off small tools for good.

I saw them take four hours on a job that should've been one, so now I only use a 14-inch trowel for anything bigger than a patch, anyone else ditch the small knives after a certain point?

My 12-inch trowel changed my life on drywall.

Seriously? It's a piece of metal for spreading mud. I've used a bunch of sizes and they all do the same basic job. Maybe you just had a really bad trowel before. Calling it life changing is a bit much for a tool that just gets covered in drywall compound.

Watching that would make anyone trade in their putty knife for a paint roller.
