Just hit 500 drywall screws in under 2 minutes and nobody cares

I was working on a ceiling job over on Maple Street last Tuesday and timed myself out of boredom. 500 screws in 1 minute 47 seconds, which is my personal best after 8 years of doing this. My crew just shrugged and said "cool" but I felt like I'd won the plumber's version of the Olympics. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone like this that felt bigger to you than it looked to everyone else?

You ever stop to think about how something can feel totally different from the inside than it does looking on? I gotta be honest, I used to roll my eyes at guys bragging about speed like that (figured it was just ego or bad workmanship catching up with them), but then I watched my buddy finish a whole garage in half the time I figured it'd take and the screws were all dead-on level. That changed my mind pretty quick. 500 in under 2 minutes is legit impressive, especially on a ceiling (which is way tougher than walls, I know from helping on a few jobs). Your crew just doesn't get the muscle memory and focus it takes to hit that rhythm without stripping or skipping. Keep it up, man, that's a solid record.

That's a solid record and your crew doesn't get how hard ceiling work actually is.

500 screws in 1:47 on a ceiling is no joke. I've done enough overhead work to know that's a killer pace without blowing out your elbows or missing depth. Your crew shrugging is rough - I got the same reaction when I nailed 84 joints in a single shift. Folks just don't see the hours of practice behind that rhythm. I see you, man. That's a real milestone.
