Just read that a standard 4x8 sheet of drywall weighs about 55 pounds, which really hit me after carrying a dozen up three flights of stairs yesterday.
I found that stat in an old safety manual at the supply house, and it made me wonder, what's the most weight you've ever had to haul for a single job?

Oh man, that's brutal. My buddy had to move a cast iron bathtub up a narrow staircase once. Pretty sure it was over 300 pounds, they almost quit.

I used to think those old tubs were maybe 200 pounds until I helped a client move one, @angela587. Now I know why your buddy almost quit.

Actually, a standard old cast iron tub is closer to 400 pounds. The big clawfoot ones can hit 500. It's the enamel coating over all that iron that really adds the weight.

Gotta push back on those tub weights a little. In my experience those old clawfoot tubs usually run closer to 250-300 pounds, not 400-500, unless you're talking about the really massive ones from the 1920s.
