Rant: I thought that new lightweight joint compound was just a gimmick

A guy on the crew kept pushing us to try it, said it saved his shoulder after a big job in Tacoma. I finally grabbed a bag of the stuff last week, used it on a whole basement ceiling. It went on smooth, but the real shock was the next day, my arms didn't feel like lead weights. Has anyone else switched and noticed a real difference with fatigue?

It's funny how we brush off new stuff as just marketing until it actually helps. My dad used to swear by his old heavy tools, but now he's all about anything that saves his back. Sometimes the small changes in materials make the biggest difference in how you feel at the end of the week.

Totally get that. I used to roll my eyes at all the "ergonomic" stuff, thought it was just a way to charge more. But I switched to a lighter drill for a big project last month and my wrist didn't feel like it was going to fall off after. It's one of those things you don't realize is wearing you out until you try the new version.

Heard the same from a guy at my local hardware store.

Man, that shoulder thing is no joke. Sounds like it actually works. Might have to give it a shot myself.
