Rant: That 18 hour day I had last Tuesday on a ceiling job downtown

Man, I don't know what got into me but I took on this big ceiling job for a new restaurant over by 5th street. Figured I'd knock it out in 8 hours but the studs were all out of whack and every sheet needed cutting different lengths. By hour 15 I was just slapping mud on crooked seams hoping nobody noticed. I ended up sleeping in my truck for 3 hours before heading home. Has anyone else had a job that just snowballed way past what you bid?

Yeah dome jobs will do that every time, first one I bid I ended up eating the cost just to finish.

Sounds like you underbid it (but hey, that's on you for not checking the studs first).

Huh, @david_jones38, you made me rethink my whole approach (and I used to swear by eyeballing it).
