Tried a new mud pan from a local supply house and it's already warping

Picked up this 'heavy duty' 12 inch pan for $45, used it on a kitchen ceiling job yesterday. The metal lip bent after the third load of mud, now it scrapes uneven. What's a brand that actually holds up for more than a month?

Remember when those old metal lunchboxes could survive getting run over by a school bus? Feels like mud pans are made from soda cans now. I had a Marshalltown last forever until I left it on a roof. My current one is a Hawk and it's doing okay, but I baby it.

Honestly, the metal itself might be fine. It's the seams and corners that go first now. They use thinner gauge and a cheaper weld. My old pan had a rolled edge that took all the abuse.

Ever try to fix a cheap pan? The weld just gives up and it's done.
