Hit 1,000 scans at my warehouse job and nobody cared but me lol
I work at a delivery warehouse scanning packages all day. It's super boring and repetitive. Last week I hit 1,000 scans in a single shift which is way more than the usual 600 or so. My boss didn't even notice or say anything but I felt like a god for a solid ten minutes. I even took a picture of the scanner screen at the end of the day. It matters because it's the only way I can measure if I'm actually doing a good job at something so dumb. Has anyone else hit a random number at work that felt like a huge deal to you but no one else got it?

Wait did you really hit 1,000 scans? That's wild. Most people barely crack 700 from what I've seen. I'd be looking at that scanner screen like it had a gold medal on it. Your boss probably just sees numbers and doesn't get how much focus that takes. That's a big deal for sure.

Right? 1,000 is insane. I got up to 912 once at my old job and my supervisor just said "good job" and moved on. It's like the higher the number, the more it becomes just another Tuesday for them. But trust me, I was dying by the end of that shift. My hand was cramping up and I could barely see straight. You know that feeling where your eyes start to glaze over and everything on the screen just blurs together? Yeah that was me at scan 800.

Yeah, I used to think it was just numbers but damn you're making me see it different.

My friend hit 800 scans once at a warehouse job and said his hand literally locked up in a claw shape for an hour after he clocked out. He said the supervisor just nodded and walked away, no pat on the back or anything. It's like once you get past a certain point they just expect you to keep hitting those numbers every day.
