Hit 500 packages scanned in one shift at the warehouse and finally felt like a machine

I always thought the old timers were exaggerating about their numbers, but last Thursday I somehow got on a roll and clocked 518 scans by 4pm. It was the exact moment I stopped hating the handheld scanner and started treating it like a video game.

Honestly that video game mindset is the only thing keeping my back from filing a formal complaint against gravity.

Idk, I mean isn't your back kind of doing the thing it's supposed to do though? Gravity isn't trying to mess with you, it's just the baseline rule of everything. Complaining about it feels like complaining that water is wet or that fire is hot. Your back hurts because of how you sit or sleep or lift stuff, not because gravity has it out for you. I'd say the real enemy here is modern chairs and bad posture, not the literal force keeping the planet together. Maybe it's just me but blaming gravity feels like blaming the road when your car has a flat tire.

Big same. I treat my scanner like I'm trying to beat my high score in a crappy arcade game that nobody else wants to play. 518 by 4pm is legit, that's the kind of streak that makes you look up from your lunch like "wait, did I just do that?
