I finally hit 50 oil changes in a single shift last Thursday
Been doing this for 7 years at my shop and never cracked 40 before, but everything just clicked that day. Anyone else ever hit a random number at work that caught you off guard?

Calling BS on that number unless you skipped half the steps.

Reusing crush washers?" That's just asking for trouble man.

...but they've got a point about the steps though, Lewis is kinda right but for the wrong reason. 50 oil changes in one shift means you're averaging like 9 minutes per car including write-up, pulling it in, and getting it out. That's doable if you're on a quick lube rack and skipping the full inspection, but you're probably not doing a proper torque check on the drain plug every time or checking the filter seal. I've been in shops where guys brag about numbers like that and then we find out they're reusing crush washers and not even looking at the old oil for metal flakes.

Sounds like you got into a solid rhythm and the cars just kept coming. Easy to hit big numbers when the bay is set up right and you're not fighting tools or waiting on parts. Did you have a dedicated drain bucket setup or just good alignment with the lube rack?
