Hit 500 feet of 3/4 EMT in one shift and felt like a machine
I been running conduit for about 4 years now, mostly commercial jobs. Last Thursday we had a rush job at a strip mall near Tulsa and I just got in the zone. By the end of the day I bent and hung 500 feet of 3/4 inch EMT by myself. That's the most I ever done solo and it surprised me because usually my hands cramp up around 300. I was using a Milwaukee bender and didn't even stop for lunch. Any other guys track their footage or just me?

Wait, you didn't stop for lunch and still bent 500 feet? Man, my blood sugar would crash around 200 feet and I'd be seeing stars, that's wild you kept going. I mean, I've had days where I skip a break but only on small stuff, not on a big solo run like that.

Wait you did 500 feet of 3/4 EMT in one shift without stopping for lunch? That is some serious work right there man. I remember one time I had to run 400 feet of 1 inch for a lighting retrofit at a warehouse and my arms felt like noodles by the end of the day. I track my footage pretty religiously in a little notebook I keep in my tool bag, not for bragging but just to see how I'm doing compared to past jobs. It helps me figure out when I'm pushing too hard or when I'm just wasting time on the layout. That Milwaukee bender is good stuff too, I used to kill my hands on the old hand benders until I switched to one of those.

Skip lunch and you're asking for a trip to the hospital, especially with that heat in Tulsa. I pushed 400 feet of 3/4 EMT once without eating and ended up so shaky I couldn't thread a coupling straight. Track your footage all you want but track your electrolytes too or you'll pay for it later.
