My journeyman told me to always use aluminum paste on 4/0 feeders, and I'm glad I didn't listen

He swore by it for years, but when we had to redo a whole apartment complex in Tampa last month, the inspector flagged every connection for excess paste. Turns out the new code just wants a light coat of oxide inhibitor, not that thick goop. Has anyone else run into this with the 2023 NEC changes?

Tampa inspectors have always been picky about that.

Wait they made you redo a whole apartment complex? That's insane.

Wait did you used to think inspectors were just being extra too? lol I totally changed my mind after seeing how bad things can get when they skip stuff. That complex redo sounds like a nightmare but probably saved someone's life down the road.
