Remember when we used to pull wire with just a fish tape and a prayer?

Now I use a vacuum and a foam puller ball for any run over 50 feet, which cut my time on a recent basement job in half. Anyone still using the old methods for long pulls, or have you all switched too?

Oh man, the foam ball is a game changer. I even use it for shorter runs now because it just glides through. That old fish tape feels like a dinosaur.

Seriously, you gotta check the run first. I learned that the hard way. I'll blow out the pipe with my shop vac, then run a glow rod to clear any junk before the foam ball. @angela_harris is right about the glide, but only if the path is clean. Found a dead mouse wrapped in old insulation once, that'll stop any ball.

Wait, you actually got a foam ball to work in a basement? Every time I try that, it just gets stuck on a random nail plate or some old cobweb buildup.
