Showerthought: My buddy swears by torque drivers, I call them slow and fussy.

Precision tools: essential for safety or just slowing down the job, where do you stand?

Torque drivers are crucial for safety on critical fasteners. They do slow things down, but skipping them can cause bigger headaches later.

Yeah and it's one of those things where rushing just costs you more time later. How many times have you seen someone strip a thread or have a bolt come loose because they guessed? That extra minute with the driver beats having to redo the whole job next week.

My buddy skipped the torque wrench on his truck's lug nuts. One wheel nearly came off on the highway, scared him half to death.
