Serious question, why did nobody tell me flux paste makes desoldering SO much easier?

I spent 20 minutes fighting a stubborn joint on a 2012 TV power board before I finally tried flux paste, and that cap came off in 2 seconds flat, now I'm wondering what other basic tricks I've been missing that everyone else already knows?

Right there with you, flux paste is the kind of trick you wish you'd learned years ago.

And that little tin keeps it from drying out too, @margareto26 is right about that part.

Started using flux paste about six months ago and I still kick myself for all those years of struggling with regular flux... It makes such a huge difference on those tight joints where you can barely get the iron in there. You just dab a little on the tip and it flows right where you need it, no messing around with a bottle that tips over or that little brush thing that always dries out. My joints are cleaner too, way less cleanup afterward and no more little balls of hardened flux everywhere. Honestly feels like cheating once you get used to it.
