Can we talk about those new wireless testers for door zone safety circuits?

I thought they were just a gimmick until one saved me a full hour tracing a fault in a 12-story bank building. Anyone else switch their mind on a tool after actually using it?

Our old foreman swore by a $5 voltage stick until it missed a live circuit in a crawlspace.

My uncle had a similar tool from a hardware store bargain bin. It gave him a false reading on an outdoor outlet last summer, said it was dead when it wasn't. He only found out because his string lights kept flickering. I don't trust those cheap testers anymore, they give you a dangerous sense of safety. A proper multimeter is the only thing that gives real peace of mind.

Trust the tool but verify with a meter. Those wireless testers are great for a quick check, but they can miss things. I still double-check anything important with my old reliable multimeter.
