Exactly, @michaeld48, that kind of steady letdown is almost impressive. Had a show do the same thing last season, where every single episode just fizzled out in the last five minutes. You start to expect the bad ending, and it still bugs you. Makes you wonder why they even bother setting things up.

Question whether it's really that deep. I mean, yeah it's annoying but it's just a show, not a life crisis. If the letdown is that predictable, maybe we're the ones setting ourselves up for disappointment.
