Showerthought: I've been setting door zone clearance wrong for a decade
Always used the old 1/4 inch rule for the bottom gap on sliding doors. Got a call back to a building on 5th Ave last month because the doors were dragging. My foreman, Carl, showed me the spec sheet for the new TKE guide shoes. They need a full 3/8 inch now. Totally changed my whole approach. Anyone else run into this with the newer hardware?

Ever notice how the little rules for stuff keep changing? I mean, you learn one way to do a thing and then it's just wrong one day. Makes you wonder what else you're doing that's outdated.

Heard the new hinges need more room too?

Wait, but what's the actual reason for the change? Is it a safety thing or just some new trend?
