Attic find flipped my take on minimalism. Everyone says less stuff, more freedom, but those old letters said otherwise.

I was all for getting rid of things to be free. Finding my grandma's notes made me see that stuff can hold real meaning. I keep a few items that tell a story now.

Yeah, that part about stuff holding real meaning hits home. I got rid of a ton of things but learned to keep the few that actually tell a story. It's about choosing, not just chucking everything.

Picking what to keep means deciding which stories matter, @ruby_jones. Some stories just bring back pain, like with that jacket. How do you know when a thing's story is good for you or not?

But what if those stories just trap you in old feelings? I kept my dad's old jacket for years and it only made me miss him more. Tossing it finally let me move forward without that constant reminder. Physical things can anchor you to pain just as easily as joy.
