Hot take: That old diner on Route 9 near Saratoga still has the best coffee I've had in 15 years

I stopped in last Tuesday for old times sake and realized every new coffee shop I've been to since 2008 has been chasing some flavor profile but this place just serves hot coffee that tastes like coffee and I forgot how good that was.

Last time I was there the waitress called me "hon" and I almost cried.

Go there on a weekday around 2pm when the morning rush is over and the lunch crowd has left. You'll get the same coffee but the waitress will have time to actually sit down and chat with you for a minute. Bring cash too because their credit card machine has been "broken" since 2019 and nobody working there cares enough to fix it. The key is going when they're slow so you can really relax and enjoy that no-frills coffee without feeling rushed out the door.
