I watched a neighbor in Phoenix water his cactus garden every single morning this July.
After his third saguaro started to rot, I finally understood that the most common mistake in desert gardening isn't neglect, it's applying the right care at the wrong time, and I'm curious if anyone else has seen a plant thrive once they stopped following a rigid schedule?

Wait, rot from overwatering in July?

@the_lee Are you saying your plant gets too much water in July? Heat can make soil stay wet longer than you'd expect. That combo is a classic setup for rot.
