Overheard a neighbor say 'I don't have time to think' while walking his dog

It hit me that I'd been treating my own quiet moments like a problem to fix, not a chance to figure things out. I started sitting outside for ten minutes after dinner without my phone. Has anyone else had a small change like that lead to a bigger idea?

My neighbor said the same thing last week while getting his mail. It made me realize I was always filling silence with podcasts or music. Now I just stare at the wall for five minutes after lunch. It sounds dumb but it helped me finally decide to repaint my kitchen. That quiet time lets stuff bubble up you didn't know was stuck.

My buddy started doing that and ended up selling his car, lmao. Just needed that quiet to realize he hated the payments.

My uncle used to complain about his long commute every holiday. One morning his radio broke and he just drove in silence for a week. He said it was so boring he actually started planning his garden shed project in his head, and now he's got a whole workshop built. Sometimes your brain just needs the empty space to build something.
