Pro tip: nobody at work cares about your "energy" if you miss the deadline

Spent two weeks hyping myself up with positive affirmations and meditation before a client deliverable, then turned it in two days late and my boss said "we needed it Friday, not good vibes." Anyone else figure out the hard way that results beat mindset every time?

You're romanticizing being nice while ignoring that people who miss deadlines get replaced, not promoted. Being reliable trumps being pleasant every time when the project's on the line.

Did I just get replaced while I was busy being pleasant?

Wait, is it really that black and white though? I've been in tech for 15 years and I've seen plenty of people hit their deadlines but burn bridges so badly nobody wanted to sit with them in meetings. That "good vibes" work matters when you're asking for help or extensions later.
