Showerthought: I spent $80 on a 'premium' journal and it just made me write less.

The fancy leather cover and thick paper felt like pressure, like every entry had to be profound. My old $3 notebook was full of messy, honest thoughts because it didn't matter. Anyone else find that expensive tools can kill the actual habit?

Ever try writing with your non-dominant hand?

My left-handed writing looks like a kindergartner's chicken scratch.

Haven't you tried gripping the pen way looser than usual? I spent a whole month forcing myself to write grocery lists and dumb notes with my left hand. My handwriting looked TERRIBLE at first, like a spider fell in ink, but it got way more readable after a few weeks. The trick for me was slowing down and not caring if it looked ugly. It actually helped my brain feel less stuck when I was overthinking stuff too.

Totally used to believe the nicer the gear, the better the work. That expensive journal just sat there judging me, though. Now I grab whatever's cheap and actually write in it.
