Spent $200 on a guided meditation retreat and it flipped my whole view on stress

I was really burned out last fall and signed up for a weekend retreat near Sedona that cost about $200. The whole point was to learn to sit with your thoughts instead of fighting them. For the first day, I thought it was a total waste of money and just felt more frustrated. But on the second morning, during a silent walk, it hit me: my stress wasn't from my job, it was from my constant battle to not feel stressed at all. That single shift in thinking changed how I handle pressure now. Has anyone else had a moment like that, where paying for an experience gave you a clarity you couldn't get on your own?

Wow, I read something similar about how fighting feelings just makes them stronger lol.

You're right, @wendy131, but it's more like trying to push them away makes them bounce back harder!

That "battle to not feel stressed" part, how do you even start to drop that?
