I finally gave LED light therapy a shot after thinking it was just a fancy gimmick

A client brought in her own Omnilux mask last month and insisted we add it to her facial. I was sure it was just a placebo effect, but after seeing her skin calm down from a bad rosacea flare in about 15 minutes, I'm a believer. I'm looking at getting a panel for my treatment room now. Has anyone else had a specific client result that made them change their mind on a treatment?

Hold on, the Omnilux mask is a home device. You can't legally use a client's personal medical device in your treatment room, that's a major liability issue. You need a professional-grade panel that's cleared for clinic use. The results are real, but you gotta get the right equipment.

Has anyone else noticed how people treat skincare rules like they're made up by some control freak in an office somewhere? Vera's point isn't about being dramatic, it's about insurance and what happens if something goes wrong. If a client has a reaction from their Omnilux mask that you used, their insurance won't cover you and yours won't either. It's the same reason you can't just bring your own hair clippers to a barber shop and ask them to use them. We get so used to DIY culture that we forget some things actually have reasons behind them, even if they seem annoying.

Totally get being a skeptic. I rolled my eyes at gua sha for the longest time, wrote it off as a trendy Instagram thing. Then a regular client with really stubborn jaw tension came in, and I used it almost as a joke to finish her facial. The difference in her puffiness and the way her muscles let go was instant and obvious. I had to eat my words and actually learn the proper technique after that.

I mean, "major liability issue" from vera_robinson36 sounds a bit intense. It's just a light mask, not surgery. If a client brings their own and asks you to use it, idk, it feels like helping a friend use their own massage gun. Maybe it's just me but the rules for that seem kinda over the top for something so simple.
