Shoutout to the client who asked for a 'gentle' extraction in Denver last month

I used to just go in with my fingers, but after her skin got red, I switched to using a comedone extractor with a warm towel first. Anyone else have a client that made you totally change a basic step?

Wait, you used to just go in with your fingers? How did that even work without hurting everyone? That seems like it would be way too rough on the skin no matter what. I get needing to change for a gentle client, but that basic step sounds painful from the start.

Saw a blog post about using way more oil than you'd think.

Yeah, that blog is probably right. A lot of people really do skimp on the oil. You need a good, thick layer to get the glide right, otherwise it's just dragging on the skin. It feels totally different when you use enough.
