Spent $400 on a 'professional' LED mask and it fried my skin
I saw so many ads for this high-end LED mask, the GlowTech ProFlex, promising to boost collagen and clear acne. The price tag was steep, around $400, but the reviews looked solid. I used it for three weeks, following the instructions to the letter. Instead of a glow, I ended up with a red, tight, burning rash across my cheeks and forehead. My dermatologist said it was likely a combination of the light intensity being too strong for my skin type and maybe a faulty unit. It took over a month of gentle cleansers and prescription cream to calm it down. I feel like such a fool for not doing more research beyond the flashy marketing. Has anyone else had a bad reaction to an at-home light device, and what did you do to fix the damage?

Heard similar stories about those masks.

But my cousin's skin cleared up a ton with one, so maybe it's just a bad batch or user error.

My buddy tried one of those red light panels. His face got so dry and flaky it looked like he had a bad sunburn. He just went back to his old moisturizer and gave up on the whole thing.
