Watching a client's skin barrier heal over 8 weeks completely shifted how I explain home care.

After she stopped using physical scrubs and switched to a simple ceramide cream I recommended, the rough, reactive patches on her cheeks smoothed out and her tolerance for active ingredients doubled, which makes me wonder if anyone has a favorite calming mist for between treatment steps?

Does a face really need that much babying though?

It's the same logic as changing your car's oil, @the_harper. A little basic upkeep prevents a much bigger, more expensive problem later. The face just happens to be the thing you have to look at every day.

Did you try that CeraVe stuff in the tub? It saved my face after I got lazy for a week.

My friend used to say the same thing, @the_harper, until she got a bad sunburn that peeled. She skipped moisturizer for a week and her skin got so tight and flaky it actually hurt to smile. Now she uses a basic lotion every morning and it made a huge difference.
