And the tarp thing is genius, I learned that one the hard way after a bag split open and I was picking up broken glass for an hour. Thursday is my go-to day too, always seems quieter than weekends when everyone and their mother shows up with a truckload. I once showed up with a bunch of old paint cans and they just pointed to a sign that said no hazardous waste on Wednesdays, had to turn around and come back the next day. Now I always double check their website before I even load the car.

Man, having that perfect recycling day is such a satisfying feeling, it's like everything finally clicks. I totally get the tarp trick too, a little prep saves so much headache when the bins are a mess. You ever get that one specific bin where everything just fits perfectly? I always bring a tarp in my trunk just in case they're out of bags, saved me so many trips back home. Also learned the hard way to sort everything before I leave the house, nothing worse than standing there holding a greasy pizza box with no idea which pile it goes in. Pro tip: check their hours online the night before, they love changing those without telling anyone.
