I thought those AI lie detector apps were total junk until my friend used one

My buddy showed me this app called TruthScan that claimed to spot lies from voice stress. I laughed and said it was a scam, but he used it on a recorded call with a contractor who was giving us a weird quote. The app flagged three spots as high deception, so we pushed back on those points. The guy admitted he was padding the labor cost by about $800. Now I'm wondering, is it okay to use tech like this in everyday talks, or does it cross a line? Has anyone else had a moment where a tech tool felt wrong but actually worked?

Honestly my trust issues are bad enough without an app grading my conversations. That's a wild story though, saving $800 would make anyone a believer.

Right?? @phoenixw11 I totally get that, the whole grading thing feels so weird. But yeah, saving that much cash is seriously hard to argue with.

Wow, saving eight hundred bucks is the only grade that actually matters. I'm with @paige331 on the weirdness though. Imagine getting a C-minus for telling your friend a boring story about your day. The app probably thinks my best talks are just me agreeing to pizza toppings.
