My new smart doorbell kept flagging my neighbor's cat as a 'suspicious person' for 47 days straight before I figured out how to adjust the sensitivity.
I felt so guilty about the false alerts, but it made me wonder where we draw the line between useful security and just creating digital noise that makes us paranoid about everything.

My fridge once sent me a security alert for a milk carton.

Oh my god that's both hilarious and kind of sad. We've reached the point where even our groceries are under surveillance. My smart speaker once told me the batteries in the smoke detector were low at 3 AM and it felt like a personal threat. This tech is getting way too jumpy.

My thermostat yelled at me for breathing too close to it, like @luna_wright's milk carton.

Actually, the smart speaker probably heard the smoke detector's low battery chirp (which is super annoying, good catch).
