Watching a delivery robot get stuck on a curb in Portland last week made me rethink the whole 'tech solves everything' idea.
It just sat there, blocking the sidewalk for like 10 minutes while people had to walk around it, and I realized we're so focused on making things smart we forget to make them actually work for people, you know?

That robot probably cost more than my car and it can't even handle a two inch curb. We're building the future on a foundation of slightly uneven pavement, lmao.

I read an article about how these robots often fail at basic tasks like stairs or curbs. It seems like the tech is getting ahead of the real world problems it needs to solve. Maybe we need to focus on the basics first.

But pushing the limits on complex stuff is how we find new ways to solve those basic problems. Sometimes you gotta aim high to improve the simple things.
