Watching a robot serve food at a diner in Tulsa made me think about service jobs
I was at a 24 hour spot on Route 66 last month and they had this little robot rolling around with plates. It felt weird, like the place lost its soul. The owner said it cut down on wait times, but I kept thinking about the people who used to do that work. Where do they go? Has anyone else seen this and felt uneasy about it?

My cousin got a robot vacuum and it keeps getting stuck under the couch.

A robot working at a diner on Route 66? That feels almost symbolic, in a bad way.

Yeah, it's a weird feeling. That human touch, even just a quick smile from a waiter, is part of what you pay for in a diner. Replacing it with a machine just makes the whole experience feel cheap and lonely.
