A client offered me $500 cash under the table to skip the permit for his shed roof.

He said the city would never know and it would save him a ton of time and money. I told him no, that the permit is there for a reason, and he got pretty annoyed, saying every other contractor does it. Where do you draw the line when a customer is pushing you to cut corners?

Exactly, once those are gone you're pretty much done lol. Gotta protect that stuff like it's your last dollar.
