My boss in Cincinnati asked me to lie about a project being done to get a bonus

He pulled me aside last Friday and said if I told the client we were finished, the whole team would get an extra $500 each. I said no, because the work was still three days from being ready. Now he's acting weird and I'm worried about my job. Has anyone else had a boss try to make you do something that felt really wrong?

Maybe check if your company has an anonymous tip line for this stuff. Could be a pattern with him.

Check if the tip line actually keeps you anonymous. Some systems log more info than they admit. I've heard of people getting identified from small details in their report.

Remember when my boss asked me to lie about inventory.

Honestly, document EVERYTHING he said. That's not just a lie, it's fraud, and you need a paper trail.
