Spending $400 on a home security camera system after a break-in has me questioning if I'm just feeding a surveillance culture I don't believe in.
The system caught a porch pirate yesterday, but now I'm watching neighbors walk their dogs and feel like a creep, so is the trade-off for safety worth the privacy cost?

Honestly, that's such a real feeling. You get the system for a very good reason, and then you're stuck with this weird side effect you never wanted. I felt the same way when I got a doorbell cam after some packages went missing. It's a trade-off that never feels totally clean, even when it works like it's supposed to. You're not a creep for noticing the awkward position it puts you in.

Totally agree, it's like you fix one problem but end up with this new, low-key weird feeling you have to just live with now.
